OUR PASTORS

Brandon & Octavia Cormier

Perhaps it is the natural result of being southern-born, or perhaps it is something more intentionally acquired—either way, the Cormiers have mastered the art of loving people with a level of authenticity and intentionality that is almost palpable. To know Brandon, Octavia, and their children – Riyan, Norah, King, and Niyah – is to experience family. Creating a sense of family has been the Cormiers’ passion for over 13 thriving years of ministry in Louisiana, Arizona, and Colorado.

Brandon & Octavia’s ministerial journey together began in the context of being discipled by missionaries while students at Youth With A Mission. Serving together on the streets of Chicago and in the charities of Calcutta, India, marked their hearts to forever see the “one” amongst many and always believe in the supernatural ability of God for miracles and provision.

Pastoring ministries of hundreds and overseeing conferences and outreach events of thousands, in addition to leading in multicultural and multigenerational settings, have helped to prepare Brandon & Octavia for senior leadership. Additionally drawing from years of discipleship of young women and working as a therapist, Octavia combines psychological applications with spiritual truth to help people experience authentic freedom. She holds a BS in Psychology from McNeese State University.

Brandon’s background in leading prayer movements, preaching in both domestic & international ministry, and developing youth pastors, have equipped him to lead with an infectious level of passion for Jesus that results in transformed lives. He holds a Master of Divinity from Oral Roberts University.

Since their beginning years of ministry, Brandon and Octavia have known that they would be involved somewhere in church ministry their entire lives; however, when God began to plant the seed of launching a church, both were shocked! In the spring of 2018, they began to experience a “supernatural love” for Colorado Springs— the city in which all of their children were born–and where they served for five years in youth ministry. It was in that season that God made it abundantly clear He was laying a burden for the city on their hearts.

After much counsel and prayer, Brandon and Octavia made the exciting decision to obey the call of God by launching a Spirit-empowered, life-giving church in order to reach those who are far from God. September 13th, 2020, Zeal Church launched with nearly 800 people in attendance. Each weekend, over 1,000 people gather in person to know God, experience freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference!
